Gossling announces ‘War’ tour of Victoria and New South Wales

Gossling (aka Helen Croome) will take to stages across Victoria and New South Wales in her first headlining tour of 2011 to support the release of her new single “War”, following stellar reviews during her recent national with Oh Mercy.

Gossling has been gaining notoriety for her distinctive voice since the late 2009 release of her ‘If You Can’t Whistle’ EP. The impressive debut features the sublime single “Days Are Over” which quickly caught the attention of Triple J and community radio, picking up strong national airplay. Her current sophomore EP ‘Until Then’ has continued to delight existing fans, as well as win her many new ones along the way. It features first single, the insanely catchy, toe-tapper, “I Was Young” and current single, the magnificent “War”.

Gossling is continuing to impress with her live performances, having graced the stages with the likes of Lamb, Whitley, Lior, The Villagers and The Whitlams; as well as successful appearances at Caloundra, Woodford Folk Festival, Peats Ridge and Boogie Fest in recent times.

Joining Gossling for the “War” tour will be Ryan Meeking and special guests.

RAIDERS – NEW SINGLE, NEW EP, NEW TOUR

Winter is on its way. The days are shorter, the nights cooler, the leaves falling from the branches of the trees. But eerily talented Melbourne songstress Owl Eyes will by no means be going into hibernation for the next few months with the release of her follow up EP and coinciding national tour, and an invitation to warm up the stage for indie constellation gazers Darwin Deez.

The last six months have been jammed packed and absolutely bursting at the seams for this musically gifted 20-year-old wonder. Following the release of her debut EP “Faces” Owl Eyes launched the EP to a sold out crammed in audience at the Workers Club in Melbourne and Melt in Sydney. The catchy sweet first single “1+1” was added to high rotation on triple j and heard throughout the summer, and her profile skyrocketed after lending her sultry vocals to the hugely popular Illy track “It Can Wait” that was heard nationally over the airwaves and on music video programs.

Summer saw Owl Eyes hit the festival circuit with performances at Hot BBQ and Pyramid Rock Festival, as well as opening for Swedish indie rockers Shout Out Louds. A co-headline tour with Andy Bull allowed the songstress to hit the road with her band to broaden their fan base, wowing audiences and winning hearts with her

catch deep pop songs. Owl Eyes also opened Melbourne’s most stylish event, the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, performing a duet with 70s pop sensation, and ARIA hall of fame inductee, Russell Morris.

Collaborating again with highly skilled, multi-talented producer/ songwriter/producer/all round lovely guy Jan Skubiszewski, Owl Eyes locked herself in the studio in order to completing her latest release, the “Raiders” EP. The EP will be released in the coming months with the title track available as the first radio single in late April. Before she heads out on the road to release the Raiders single, Owl Eyes will be jumping on the tour bus with Darwin Deez, radar detecting their way around the East Coast as part of the bands May tour.

megastick fanfare debut album launch - wollongong

Following the announcement of the long awaited debut release from the Sydney experimental-pop smiths, megastick fanfare confirms a string of intimate launches in May.

Set for release on May 6, grit aglow traverses the full experimental pop spectrum, from abrasive intensity to incendiary flare. The album sustains a rhythmic focus, with its diverse, jagged soundscape taking shape through the process of interweaving and unravelling textural and melodic elements.
grit aglow marries complexity and accessibility in a style that has, in megastick’s short history, come to define the band’s sound.

The five multi-instrumentalists are in their element live, with energetic performances their hallmark. Each show is opened with a unique ‘fanfare’ – a semi-improvised introduction to the set. Joining them at each album launch will be best band-buddies The Parking Lot Experiments, plus special guests Sealion in Sydney and Wollongong.
